Plankstadt is a municipality in the Electoral Palatinate in the heart of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and lies in the triangle of the cities of Heidelberg, Mannheim and Hockenheim. Surrounded by greenery and fields, it borders Schwetzingen to the southwest.

The Antoniusquartier

With the aim of developing an attractive residential area worth living in, the municipality of Plankstadt designated the Antoniusquartier development area on the western edge of the town and opened up the area for residential development from 2018. On the approximately three hectare area between Antoniusweg and Brühler Weg, sought-after housing is being built for a total of 37 single-family houses, terraced houses and semi-detached houses as well as around 120 condominiums and rental apartments.

The traffic-calmed area can be reached by car via the Westende entrance in the north; all other accesses are commercial or cycle paths. An attractively designed, central neighborhood square serves as a place for meeting and communication in the already popular residential area.

The Humboldt primary school in Antoniusweg and the neighboring daycare center Postillion e. V. are within walking distance. The already completed playground in the Antoniusquartier with water play options is the highlight for the smaller residents; A leisure facility for older children with a football, dirt and skate park is just a few minutes' walk away. There is a citizen bus stop on Antoniusweg. Electric car owners can charge their vehicle at a charging station directly in the neighborhood.

The construction project AT HOME IN THE ANTONIUSQUARTIER is being realized by D&S DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL Wohnbau GmbH in four construction phases.

A total of eight four-story residential buildings with 81 classic condominiums and 42 publicly subsidized rental apartments are being built. The development reflects a diverse, village-like neighborhood structure. The conical shapes enable a diverse mix of apartments of different sizes and floor plans within one building. Different types of apartments are grouped around the center of the district in richly designed point buildings.

Construction phase 3: Westende 12b

In construction phase 3, DIRINGER & SCHEIDEL is building a residential building with 14 classic condominiums, which are divided into 2 to 4 room apartments with living spaces ranging from 72 m² to 136 m². The loft of the building is planned as a staggered floor with generous open spaces.

Each apartment has a balcony or terrace. The targeted building rotations allow at least a distant view from every outdoor seat or balcony. Two apartments are planned to be barrier-free (according to § 35 LBO) and usable for wheelchair users.

Architecture

Building directions follow the shape of the property - this creates individual, seemingly disordered architectural forms and equally lively open spaces. The characteristic building shapes completely dispense with parallel wall positions in the outside space.

The non-rectangular buildings and their orientation as well as the existing directions of streets, parcels of land, existing buildings and landscape features result in dynamic structures and exciting spaces. Organic building edges underline this character and create a distinctive place where you feel comfortable. All flat roofs receive extensive greenery. The facade is presented in light, contrasting colors.

Street and outdoor areas are attractively designed and greened. Most of the stationary traffic in the planned development is accommodated in three underground car parks.
