Surroundings and location
The district offers very good infrastructure. All shops for daily needs are within walking distance. Additional shopping options can be found around Benrath market square, or of course in the city centre, which is approximately 30 minutes away by car.
Landscape and surroundings
Schloss Benrath is located only approx. 2 km from Angerstraße. It houses several museums with changing exhibitions. As part of the “music year”, concert series from a wide range of genres take place. Particularly popular is the annual festival of lights in the palace park. On this evening, visitors can enjoy the sounds of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra in a unique atmosphere during a picnic, accompanied by water and light shows as well as a spectacular fireworks display.
Gastronomy
The Benrath district also offers a wide variety of culinary options: cafés, pubs and restaurants with home-style cooking or international cuisine – there is something for every taste.
Leisure activities
Numerous events accompany residents of Urdenbach throughout the year. Easter activities, “dance into May”, summer festival, crafts market or harvest festival – thanks to the voluntary commitment of the Urdenbach citizens’ association, there is never a dull moment. A special highlight in autumn is the harvest festival, which attracts visitors from across the city and beyond. Concerts and live events regularly take place at the rock and blues pub Zur Alten Apotheke.
Transport connections
By car, the nearest access to the A59 (3.7 km) can be reached within a few minutes. Several bus lines also operate; in the neighbouring district of Benrath, it is possible to transfer to the underground or S-Bahn, with Benrath S-Bahn station located just 3.1 km away.
In Urdenbach, almost all types of schools are available: there are two primary schools, a secondary school and a grammar school, as well as several daycare centres.
