Location & surroundings
Green charm
Located in the easternmost part of Leverkusen at the foothills of the Bergisches Land, Steinbüchel is probably the most rural district of the city. Nearby recreational and nature conservation areas such as Bürgerbusch and Oulu Lake offer beautiful landscapes ideal for cycling, walking and hiking.
However, Steinbüchel offers more than just green surroundings. Quality of life, the economy and the job market have developed very positively in recent years in Leverkusen. The city invests significantly in housing and education – developments that also benefit Steinbüchel.
Village character
Steinbüchel is characterised by its established structures. The townscape features detached houses, tree-lined streets and several historic buildings.
Supermarkets and bakeries are conveniently accessible for daily needs – both in Steinbüchel itself and in the neighbouring district of Lützenkirchen. Cafés and restaurants also offer a varied selection of regional and international cuisine.
Leisure
Sports enthusiasts can choose between two fitness studios, the local tennis club and SSV Lützenkirchen, which offers a wide range of sports activities for all age groups. The surrounding open landscape is also perfect for jogging and cycling.
For children, the established village environment is particularly appealing. Thanks to traffic-calmed streets and 30 km/h zones, they can move around safely and enjoy playgrounds and youth centres with friends.
Education
Kindergartens and schools are also close by. Directly next to the new residential development, PAESCHKE Unternehmensgruppe is currently building a daycare centre scheduled for completion in summer 2023. Additional daycare facilities from various providers are located in the area.
Within a radius of less than four kilometres, all school types are available – from primary schools to vocational colleges.
Transport connections
Living in Steinbüchel means being centrally located between the Rhine cities of Cologne and Düsseldorf, both reachable in approximately 30 minutes by car (about 5 km to the A3 motorway).
The centre of Leverkusen is even closer and can be reached in about 10 minutes by car. Frequent public transport connections allow non-drivers to reach it comfortably in around 30 minutes.
