Project description

SOLINGEN – THE CITY OF BLADES

For many years, the city of Solingen has invested in revitalising the city centre and preserving its historic buildings.

Modern shopping centres, a futuristic bus terminal, and spacious tree-lined plazas blend seamlessly with classical Gründerzeit façades and traditional Bergisch half-timbered architecture, creating a unique architectural and cultural experience. The curious observer gains an insight into the city's dynamic urban development. Nestled in the gentle green hills of the Bergisches Land region, Solingen offers a diverse urban landscape with its districts Aufderhöhe, Burg, Gräfrath, Höhscheid, Mitte, Merscheid, Ohligs, and Wald – all rich in culture and attractions worth exploring. Marvel at the impressive Müngsten railway bridge – Germany’s highest railway bridge at 107 m – or travel back in time to the Middle Ages with a visit to Schloss Burg. Each district has its own character, offering new experiences to discover.

Enjoy peace and charm in a typical Bergisch setting, for example in the Gräfrath district, with its historic market square and cosy pubs and restaurants. A traditional “Bergische Kaffeetafel” provides the perfect boost before your next walk or bike ride through the romantic countryside, where warm welcomes await.

    Energy and heating concept

Heating system – air-to-water heat pump

The air-to-water heat pump is a forward-looking technology that aligns with modern building standards. Rising costs for fossil fuels make it a smart alternative to traditional heating systems like gas or oil boilers.

Heat pump – the eco-friendly alternative

Compared to gas or oil heating systems, heat pumps offer significantly better primary energy efficiency and lower CO₂ emissions. They play a key role in energy savings and help reduce pollutants such as carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter – all in support of a more sustainable environment. From an energy perspective, the heat pump is now one of the most advanced heating technologies available.

    Photovoltaic system

A PV system converts sunlight into electricity. PV stands for photovoltaic, the technology that makes this process possible.

The system consists of multiple components: photovoltaic modules, mounting systems, solar cables, power storage units, inverters, and energy meters. The modules generate direct current from sunlight, which is then converted to alternating current by the inverter.

PV systems can either feed power into the public grid for compensation or be set up as standalone systems for self-use or storage.

    Energy-efficient and sustainable living

Our construction projects are built according to the latest GEG 2023 (Building Energy Act), which promotes climate protection and sustainability in the housing sector. Each unit features premium fittings, high-performance thermal insulation, and smart home technology for comfortable and cost-efficient living.
