Location description
Bonn city center is a district on the left bank of the Rhine and forms the heart of the federal city. It borders the districts of Bonn-Castell, Nordstadt, Weststadt, and Südstadt, and lies directly on the eastern banks of the Rhine.
The pedestrian zone – car-free since 1967 – stretches from Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz through Marktplatz, Remigiusplatz, and Münsterplatz to the central station. The district also includes the historic riverside quarter and the northern area around Stiftsplatz.
