As the first of two high-quality new build projects on the corner plot of Weichselstraße 2/Bütteler Straße 6 enters its final phase of construction, the second new build project begins implementation along Weichselstraße.
The completion of the project is planned for the end of the 4th quarter 2020. This solidly constructed building meets energy efficiency requirements under EnEV 2016 and also meets all the requirements of the KfW 55 Efficiency House standard.
The apartment building will have a solar system, gas-fired condensing central heating, a passenger elevator and polymer-framed windows with triple glazing. External to the residential spaces there'll be a parking space for each apartment and a separate storage room.
The residential units on the staggered uppermost floor offer the convenient option of expansion into spacious maisonette apartments with approx. 110 and 120 m² over two floors thanks to an associated hobby room.
The apartments each have two to three rooms and have living areas of approx. 61 to 79 m² on the first two full residential floors.
A solid two-shell masonry structure, primarily made from aerated concrete and sand-lime brick, speaks for the high-quality and durable construction of this new build project as a whole. The outer shell or facing masonry meets both structural and mechanical requirements. Due to the longevity of these facades and low maintenance requirements, double-shell masonry pays off in the long run. In addition, all interior walls are plastered, primed and whitewashed with a lime cement plaster. The planned barrier-free apartments will all be accessible via an elevator from a well-known manufacturer.
Electrical systems including metering devices are installed according to VDE and EVU regulations. All living rooms have sufficient sockets and switches.
The bathrooms are fitted with sanitary amenities from well-known manufacturers such as Villeroy & Boch. The fittings are from brands such as Grohe, Ideal or similar.
The new build project is located on the former site of the Kalkofen ('lime kiln') sauna. This public sauna facility is still fondly remembered by many Bremerhaven residents as an "oasis of relaxation". Right next door is the Kalkofen, which was built in 1850 and to produce lime, a binder material once used in the building of houses.
Today the Kalkofen is a heritage-listed building and an impressive reminder of the area's history. The immediate area offers various advantages for every generation. Within a few minutes you can reach local supply facilities for daily errands, such as supermarkets, banks, doctors, restaurants and bus stops.
A modern kindergarten and schools are also not far from your new apartment. The seaside city of Bremerhaven, especially the new Havenwelten, have a lot to offer in terms of leisure activities. The Meditarraneo, the Klimahaus, the Maritime Museum, the dike, the Columbus Centre and also the Obere Bürger invite you to go for a walk, shop or just stroll.
