Understanding comes before shaping – the architecture of SCHANZENKIND unites old and new, integrating the new build with sensitivity into the established neighborhood fabric.
This project is a child of the Schanze.
We understand that the Schanze was here before us – and we are now contributing a new building block to the evolution of this unique community. Red-brown bricks form the building’s foundation, continuing in a varied and light façade design that, along with the classic reinterpretation of the top floor, echoes the motifs and forms of the surrounding buildings and combines them into a new, harmonious whole. We are continuing what has always defined the district.
Divided across two buildings, Bartelsstraße 65 will host four townhouses and 25 condominiums. Around the car-free inner courtyard, rental apartments and a daycare center will also be created. Eight parking spaces with EV charging options and a bike parking space are located in the underground garage.
