Korb is a municipality with just under 11,000 inhabitants in the Rems-Murr district, approximately 20 km northeast of Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg. Its location in a flourishing economic region – combined with an environment characterised by orchards and viticulture – makes Korb a popular residential and commuter town. Three vine-covered hills, the Korber Kopf, the Hörnleskopf and the Kleinheppacher Kopf, provide incomparable perspectives.

The municipality has a lively town centre and is characterised by a residential-oriented, family-friendly infrastructure. A building concept that optimally meets the needs of residents, creates comfortable living spaces, harmonises perfectly with its surroundings and ensures high energy efficiency: this characterises our "Korber Viertele" project.

The Korber Viertele contains 23 residential units (1- to 5-room apartments from 39 to 120 m² living space) which blend harmoniously into the surrounding development across three full floors and one recessed floor.

Construction was solid – "stone by stone". Brick cladding creates accents on the light rendered facades and thus creates a high-quality, contemporary, unobtrusive appearance. Through compact construction, a highly thermally insulated building envelope, the avoidance of thermal bridges and the use of a modern heating system in a contracting model, "Korber Viertele" achieves the demanding Efficiency House 55 standard.

The entrance areas are spacious and bright. All apartments face south. Partially room-height windows as well as large terraces and loggias – accessible from the living/dining area – open the living space to the outside. The ground floor apartments have sunny south terraces and their own garden area, which is framed by planting with native shrubs.
