Bad Oldesloe, the county town of Stormarn district, lies between Hamburg and Lübeck in the heart of Schleswig-Holstein and has around 25,000 inhabitants. Nestled between the rivers Beste and Trave, the city combines a green, nature-close environment with proximity to two important metropolises. The charming city centre with historic façades, small boutiques, cafés and weekly markets gives Bad Oldesloe a special atmosphere. In terms of transport, the county town is excellently connected: via the A1 motorway you can reach Hamburg in about 45 minutes and Lübeck in around 20 minutes. The regional train (RE8/RE80) connects Bad Oldesloe with both cities every half hour. The planned expansion of the S4 railway line will in future enable a direct connection to Hamburg city centre and the airport.
