Our community was founded in 1972 by merging the previously politically independent communities of Bretzenacker, Ödernhardt, Öschelbronn, Oppelsbohm, Reichenbach, Rettersburg, Steinach and Vorderweißbuch. Hößlinswart with 759 inhabitants was added in 1975. The residents feel that they belong together as Bergleners and yet each sub-community still has a certain life of its own with clubs and village festivals. Hößlinswart is conveniently located between Waiblingen, Stuttgart, Winnenden and Schorndorf in the middle of forest and nature. Due to the sublime location, extensive hikes can be undertaken as a local recreation area in Stuttgart with views.

Public transport connections:

Berglen is located in the area of the transport and tariff association Stuttgart (VVS), which includes the areas of the city of Stuttgart, the districts of Ludwigsburg, Esslingen and Böblingen as well as the Rems-Murr district. A uniform tariff based on a zone plan applies to all public transport throughout the VVS area.
