Bad Segeberg is conveniently located in the city triangle Hamburg - Kiel - Lübeck. All three cities can be reached in about 30 minutes by car via the motorway connection and the federal highways. The nearby train and bus station ensures the connection even without a car. To the east is the East Holstein hilly landscape and to the north is the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park.
